For dancers, taking care of our bodies is especially important, as it allows us to continue pursuing our passion and performing at our best. In addition to healthy eating habits, it's also important to have healthy lifestyle habits in general. This includes getting enough sleep, staying active, and taking care of our mental health. All of these factors contribute to our overall well-being and can help us be at our best as dancers for a long time.
Goal Setting for Dancers

This acronym, SMART, is a helpful way to ensure that your goals are well-defined and actionable. Here are some smart goals examples for ourselves as dancers to help you get started:

Instead of saying "I want to improve my technique," try setting a goal like "I want to be able to execute a triple pirouette by the end of the year." This way, you'll have a clear idea of what you're working towards and how to measure your progress.
2. Make a plan: Once you've set your goals, it's important to have a plan in place to achieve them. This might involve taking extra classes or working with a coach, setting aside time for daily practice, or finding ways to incorporate your goals into your performances or rehearsals.
3. Be realistic: While it's important to push yourself, it's also important to be realistic about what you can achieve in a year. Make sure your goals are challenging, but achievable.
